Ecology & Retreat Programme Manager

Balmer Dawson Executive Search is delighted to partner with An Tairseach, seeking an Ecology & Retreat Programme Manager.

This is a unique opportunity to join a small, values-driven organisation with a strong reputation and real momentum. You will have the freedom to design meaningful programming, work closely with like-minded people, and make a tangible impact on individuals, communities, and the environment.

Based in the stunning seaside town of Wicklow and surrounded by natural beauty, you’ll be working in a place that inspires reflection, connection, and change.

If you are passionate about ecology, community, and education; and are excited by the chance to contribute to a values-driven organisation making a real impact, we would love to hear from you.

About:

An Tairseach is a registered eco-charity located in the heart of Wicklow Town. Their mission is to cultivate a sense of wonder and understanding, deepening the connection of all people with the natural world and the wider universe.

Their purpose is to create a gathering place that inspires meaningful conversations, ideas, and learning around shared origins and the future. Their vision is to be a standout destination for Wicklow Town, and a beacon of community-led conservation and ecological wellbeing across Ireland.

Their Ecology Centre offers a rich and evolving programme of courses, retreats, and workshops that highlight the ecological dimensions of both the universe’s story and the human story. These programmes not only shine a light on the worldviews, values and practices that have contributed to today’s environmental crisis, but also promote and explore ways of thinking, acting, and believing that will support the healing of the earth and the flourishing of the human species.

  • Facilitating and delivering their existing sabbatical programme, including participant admissions and leading educational outings.

  • Creating offerings that reach new demographics and deepen local community engagement.
  • Developing workshops and courses that integrate the work of their on-site organic farm.
  • Planning and hosting seasonal celebrations such as Winter/Summer solstices and Spring/Autumn equinoxes.
  • Facilitating group reflection days and guided tours of the farm and centre.
  • Building collaborative links with other ecology centres and aligned institutions in Ireland and abroad.
  • Creating and overseeing a marketing plan for the programme.
  • Preparing and reporting on the programme budget.
