NYCI announced as Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Champions for 2023-2024
The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) has been appointed as one of the 26 organisations chosen by the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan TD, as leaders in driving forward Ireland’s progress towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The appointment is part of the 2023-2024 SDG Champions Programme, which aims to raise public awareness of the SDGs and to encourage everyone in society to make a contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As an SDG Champion, NYCI will act as an advocate and promoter of the SDGs, as well as an example of how an organisation can integrate the goals into their work and activities.
The 26 champions appointed this year consist of larger, national organisations and smaller, community groups from across the public, private, community, voluntary, youth, and NGO sectors, including the National Youth Council of Ireland.
