About:

Youth Work Ireland and Youth Work Ireland Tipperary are hosting an international conference on youth information provision. Infonomics: Fact Matter: A Conference Addressing Quality Practice and Innovation in the Delivery of Youth Information takes place on October 4th and 5th in the Ballykisteen Hotel, Tipperary.

Infonomics: Fact Matter will bring the entire Irish Youth Information sector together to present its knowledge and experience of responding to contemporary issues that affect all of us who work with young people and communities. These include emerging concerns such as AI, the metaverse, hate speech and extremist online content as well as established areas of work such as young people’s access to participation, work, education and social rights.

The conference is premised on the principle that information and being informed is a precursor to participation in all its’ senses. Therefore, “In particular, young people require access to high quality information to make informed decisions in their own lives. The Infonomics Conference promises to deliver valuable insights into how we can improve youth information provision.”  Roderic O'Gorman, Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth of Ireland

The Infonomics: Facts Matter conference is aimed at youth information workers, mangers and board members of youth services, policy makers responsible for service provision to young people, ETB youth officers, academics and students with an interest in all aspects of information provision.
