Cloth Nappy Library Launch Virtual Nappuccinos

Posted on 13 Jun 2023

Great news for new and expecting parents in Ireland. The Cloth Nappy Library Ireland has recently launched Virtual Nappuccino on Zoom in a bid to make learning about cloth nappies more accessible.

With an increasing focus on climate change, cloth nappies offer parents a more environmentally friendly choice and significantly cut down on the waste generated by disposables. This waste often ends up polluting landfills and oceans.

In Ireland, an average of 1.2m* disposable nappies go into landfill every single day and these take 500 years to break down. So any incentive to help parents make a greener choice and cut down on waste is greatly welcomed.

Cloth nappies can also save families a small fortune in the long run, particularly as one set of nappies can be reused on a second or third child and even passed on to another family.

Here at the CNLI we are always looking for ways to support parents and spread the word about cloth and that's why we have a dedicated Facebook Chat Group, a WhatsApp Group and now Virtual Nappuccinos.

As parents, we know it is hard to find time for in-person meet-ups so we are hosting monthly Virtual Nappuccinos to allow families the opportunity to learn about cloth nappies from the comfort of their homes.

On Tuesday 20 June at 8pm one of our experienced volunteers will be showing different types of nappies, how to wash cloth nappies, dealing with poo, and leaks all while sharing lots of tips and tricks. At the end of the 30-minute session, there will be an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
