Applications are invited from pre-accredited & accredited counsellors/psychotherapists for volunteer positions in Purple House Cancer Support Centre, Bray, Co. Wicklow.
Our services include a community counselling service, offering face-to-face sessions, while applying precautions necessary to comply with public health advice during COVID-19.
The centre has very large rooms which facilitate social distancing during face-to-face counselling.
Our mission in the Purple House Cancer Support Centre is to support people of all ages who are living with Cancer or who have been affected by a Cancer diagnosis by providing effective and accessible counselling and psychotherapy services.
Our counselling service supports those who are recently diagnosed, are living with Cancer, are post Cancer or have suffered a bereavement or loss which includes those whose lives have been affected by COVID-19, job losses, separation, and isolation.
We are seeking pre-accredited counsellors/psychotherapists for volunteer positions.
The service operates Monday to Saturday daytime and evenings.
Counsellors are asked to offer a minimum of 2 hours per week.

You will be asked to provide documentary evidence of the following:
- Copy of accredited course currently completing.
- Adequate professional indemnity insurance.
- Appropriate supervision in place – name and contact details of supervisor.
- Membership of counselling/psychotherapy association e.g. IACP, IAHIP, APCP etc.
Group in-house supervision is provided monthly and it is a requirement that all counsellors working with clients in Purple House attend group supervision.
Garda vetting is also a requirement.
Closing date: All documentation received by the Purple House will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Acts and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018)
