This event will explore and highlight the key issues related to child poverty and what are the main barriers to social inclusion. We will be speaking with experts and people with lived experience on what should the government’s priorities be in tackling child poverty and promoting greater equality and social inclusion in Ireland.

The speakers will include:

  • Dr. Tricia Kielty, Head of Social Justice at St Vincent de Paul
  • Dr. Joe Whelan, Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work and Social Policy at Trinity College.

Treoir’s Board Member, Louise Bayliss from Focus Ireland, and the founder of S.P.A.R.K. will then host a discussion panel of people with lived experience of the issues discussed to get a better understanding of what changes need to be made to reduce child poverty and social exclusion.

If you or any of your colleagues are interested in attending, we would love to have you!

If you have any questions about the event, please do not hesitate to contact our Policy Officer Gayle Smith at gayle@treoir.ie
