A Crisis of Connection and Connecting in a Crisis.

Finding keys to the future when everything seems locked in the past.

Free Zoom Webinar

Thursday, 10 November 7.00 – 8.30pm

Have you noticed recently that we seem to be living in a time of existential crisis with multiple challenges on multiple fronts that threaten not only the quality of our lives but indeed whether or not we will even continue to have one as a species?

From Climate Change to the energy crisis to the cost-of-living crisis to environmental and diversity crises of unprecedented magnitude, to civil and social unrest, to war, famine, species extinction and habitat loss to relationship breakdowns at every level and an escalation of conflict and focusing on differences that divide us rather than truths that unite us?

No wonder that the Collins Dictionary word of the year is PERMACRISIS!

But why and how is this happening?

If you think about it all conflict is caused by some kind of disconnection.

Our environmental challenges are largely caused us having disconnected from the fact that we are part of the Planet’s organic life and therefore influence how it functions as a holistic and integrated system.  What James Lovelock called The Gaia Principle.

Accordingly we have shifted from living on the Planet to living off it by exploiting and depleting its resources in completely unsustainable ways.

And the more we disconnect from the Planet the greater the problems we will continue to have into the future and the more they will compound.

The same principles apply in all our relationships. The more we disconnect from each other the greater the gaps between us and the greater the conflict becomes and the harder it becomes to resolve them. The more you focus on the differences the greater they become.

Until we reach the point of being polar opposites to each other which is literally true because the North and South polar regions never connect with each other.  Plus they are cold, hard and frozen in ice which is much like what happens to relationships when the parties disconnect from each other.

More cold, hard and frozen won’t fix things, but warmth, respect and flexibility might.

In this free Zoom Webinar we shall be looking at the processes involved that can easily cause problems like alienation and disconnection in our relationships and how when it happens we can apply some simple Restorative Principles to begin the process of Reconnection and Reconciliation towards creating a better future rather than a continuing painful and harmful past.

All are welcome.

This Webinar forms part of a series on Sustainable Relationships and Resolving Conflict but it is not necessary to have attended any previous Webinars as they are designed as stand-alone events.
