The Charities Regulator Wants Your Views on the Governance Code

Posted on 30 Apr 2024

The Charities Regulator is seeking the views of trustees to help review the communications for the Charities Governance Code.

The main guidance document for the Code was published in 2018 to coincide with the launch of the Code, whereas most charities have now either fully or partially implemented it. A review of the communications is therefore timely. We also know from past surveys and engagement with stakeholders that trustees and others working in charities would welcome more support on using the Code as a practical tool to help make sure their charities are well run.

This survey is intended to probe the current communications, to get the views of charity trustees on using the Code, and to identify possible areas where more support or guidance from the Regulator would be welcome.

Below is a link to the survey. The survey is anonymous, and data will be analysed on an aggregate basis only. We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes before noon, Monday 13 May 2024, to complete it or pass it to the trustees of your charity if you have a different position within the organisation.

Your views matter. We are keen to hear and learn from as many charity trustees as possible, even from within the same charity.
