First Fortnight Fundraising It's A(n Online) Table Quiz!

Posted on 8 Oct 2020

First Fortnight is returning its annual FUNdraiser quiz this October but it's going online this year. And we've decided if we are going online, well we are going to both save some trees and have some fun with the whole process, so expect unusual rounds including a speed cheating timed round. Like Ocean's Eleven, you can now even assemble an international team of experts with individual specialities for the quiz. This quiz is open to all, new and returning teams are heartily encouraged!

The quiz will take place online on October 15th at 7:30pm with the online event space open from 7pm for everyone to get settled in.Tables for teams of up to 4 are €50. There will be a series of rounds with everyone having a chance to show off their knowledge about music, sports, pop culture and more! All registered teams will be provided with a link to access our online quiz. Questions will be read out and emailed to each team and the answers will be emailed back to our team of correctors.

We can't offer you the traditional pyramid of sandwiches and those tiny sausages this time round, so instead we are going to get some of the acts for the upcoming festival to perform during the night and give a wee sneak peak of what's happening in January including the hilarious comedian Eve Darcy and musician Sinéad White.

Host and tech expert and First Fortnight volunteer Stephen Behan will be the MC for the evening's shenanigans. We anticipate Eurovision host level number of costume changes throughout the evening proceedings.

The evening will also include our beloved raffle with lovely prizes kindly donated by Irish businesses including Butlers Chocolates and the Elbow Room and the Buff Day Spa.

All proceeds raised will go towards the charity and our activities including free mental health care for Ireland's most vulnerable communities, suicide reduction nationally through our advocacy work and national mental health arts festival and supporting artists, the arts and cultural sector.

In light of the challenges faced by the country nationally, in some ways, we feel this year's festival will be our most important campaign to date and our 10th anniversary.

We look forward to seeing all your faces online in October!

Special thanks to Film Network Ireland for their support of this event.
