HUGG: FREE Workshop – ‘Colour, Create & Connect’ | Bantry, Cork | 10 Oct

If you have been bereaved by suicide, whether recently or many years ago, and are aged 18 or over, you are invited to join HUGG for a FREE Soft Pastel Creative Workshop on Saturday, 10 October, from 10.45am to 1pm at the Westlodge Hotel & Leisure Centre, Seafield, Cork Road, Bantry, Co. Cork (P75 N978).

Led by soft pastel artist Emma Phillips, whose work is inspired by wildlife and the natural world, the workshop will introduce you to working with soft pastel, including blending, layering and creating texture. This is a hands-on opportunity to slow down, focus on the creative process and create something of your own. The immersive nature of working with soft pastel offers a chance to lose yourself in the doing, allowing the outside world to fade into the background as you become absorbed in the moment and focused on the piece at your fingertips.

No previous experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. You’ll have time to experiment with the medium, work at your own pace and create a piece to take home.

This workshop offers a welcoming space to connect with others bereaved by suicide with no expectation to talk about your experience or share anything personal – you can simply focus on the creative activity. At the workshop you will be warmly welcomed by a HUGG West Cork Volunteer with lived experience of suicide loss. Complimentary refreshments will be served on arrival, with sandwiches provided at the end of the workshop.
