Summary of the role

Castleknock Community Centre is seeking an organised, proactive and community focused Finance Administrator / Centre Operations Supervisor to support the Centre Manager in the day to day operation of the Centre.

The successful candidate will oversee financial and administrative processes, maintain accurate records, monitor expenditure, assist with budgeting, invoicing, reporting, payroll and funding applications, and support the effective management of Centre resources. The role will also involve supporting staff and tenants, supervising staff as required, assisting with rostering, events and initiatives.

Applicants should have relevant experience in financial administration, excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook. A recognised Leaving Certificate or equivalent is essential, while an accounting or bookkeeping qualification and experience in a community, not-for-profit or service environment are desirable.

This is a varied, office based role requiring initiative, confidentiality, professionalism and a strong commitment to delivering an excellent service to Centre users and the local community.

Responsibilities of the role

The Finance Administrator / Centre Supervisor will support the Centre Manager in the effective day to day operation of Castleknock Community Centre.

Key responsibilities include financial and administrative management, tenant and customer liaison, staff support and supervision, grant and funding administration, event and community initiative support, and engagement with local organisations and stakeholders.

The role will maintain accurate financial and operational records, identify opportunities to improve processes, and assist with communications and Centre activities.

The postholder will act as a key point of contact for staff, tenants and Centre users, ensuring a professional, responsive and customer focused service, while also ensuring confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have relevant experience in financial administration, strong organisational and administrative skills, and excellent attention to detail.

They should be confident using Microsoft Office and financial/booking systems such as SAGE and SportsKey.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and support staff and Centre users. Experience in community, not-for-profit or service environments, staff supervision, grants/funding, payroll or bookkeeping would be advantageous.

A relevant financial or accounting qualification is desirable. The role requires professionalism, confidentiality, initiative, flexibility and a strong commitment to providing a high quality service to the Centre and local community.
