Senior Sector Skills Policy Manager
I manage the policy and research work of the Skills Team at The Wheel. We work to ensure that nonprofit organisations of all types, and those that work for them, are well served by the state’s skills development infrastructure.
To do this we engage extensively with various groups who have an interest in our training and upskilling work, including sector employers, policy makers, researchers, and education and training bodies. I also represent the community and voluntary pillar on the National Skills Council. We carry out research to find out the skills and training needs and concerns of those who work in our sector and work with colleagues across the sector to progress areas of shared interest including a focus on foundational skills, the value of adult and community education and addressing the digital divide.
