Director of Policy and Advocacy

Back to our staff

As Director of Policy and Advocacy, I provide strategic leadership and direction to The Wheel, focusing particularly on public policy, advocacy and campaigns. I engage with members, policy makers and other stakeholders, influencing and effecting change at both national and local levels.

I have worked extensively in the political arena, serving as Chief of Staff for the Green Party in the 2020-2025 and 2007-2011 Governments, as well as in the position of General Secretary of the party. I also served as Political Coordinator for Independent Ministers in the 2016-2020 Government.

I rejoined The Wheel in May 2026, having served in a similar policy and advocacy position in the mid-2000s, and having managed two national community engagement projects for The Wheel in the 2010s. My work in the Community and Voluntary Sector also includes senior positions in the National Youth Council of Ireland, Early Childhood Ireland and Greenpeace Europe. This was built on my involvement on a paid and voluntary basis in youth work with Foróige and in scouting.

I have a Masters in Education and Training Management from DCU. I live in Glasnevin, Dubin, and in my spare time I like to hike and read fiction.
