The Wheel and IREPO to Host Energy Poverty Workshop

A workshop in Dublin on 13 November will bring together community organisations, researchers and policy advocates to explore how community insights and data-driven tools can help tackle energy poverty in Ireland.

The Wheel, in partnership with Irish Energy Poverty Observatory (IREPO), will host Energy Poverty: Community Insights, Data Platforms & Policy Solutions on Friday, 13 November 2026, at the Ashling Hotel in Dublin.

The event will explore how community experiences can inform better responses to energy poverty and vulnerability, combining insights from people and organisations working on the ground with data-driven tools to support effective policy development.

The morning session will feature keynote contributions examining energy poverty from the perspectives of community action, environmental advocacy, social welfare, charity support networks and regional energy initiatives.

In the afternoon, participants will hear updates on the IREPO and EPCO initiatives and take part in practical sessions exploring data integration, spatial vulnerability metrics and interactive data tools. The workshop will also provide opportunities to share knowledge, test approaches and contribute to the development of practical policy solutions.

The event is open to anyone interested in addressing energy poverty in Ireland, including community and voluntary organisations, charities, researchers, advocacy groups and regional energy agencies.

The full-day workshop is free to attend.
