Dublin Festival of History 2026 – Oral History: A Selection of Narratives from Past Lives
The Oral History Network of Ireland will host a FREE event as part of this year’s Dublin Festival of History.
Oral history helps bring the past to life by recording the voices, experiences, stories and memories of people who lived through periods of Irish history. Their recollections provide fascinating and valuable personal insights into their lived experience. Recording oral history narratives has grown in popularity throughout our schools, colleges, communities, towns and cities.
At this event, members of the Oral History Network of Ireland (OHNI) share with you some of the audio clips and testimonies from the wide range of projects that bring history to life.
There will be an audience Q&A and discussion where the presenters will share practical tips and advice, drawn from their experiences, with those interested in recording their own interviews.
