Registration Now Open for Bank of Ireland/BITC Learning Exchange 2026 – Courses for Charities & NGOs
Business in the Community Ireland is delighted to inform the Irish non-profit sector that Learning Exchange – Bank of Ireland’s learning & development initiative for Charities and NGOs – is returning in October 2026.
Since 2012, Bank of Ireland has been providing places on top-class training courses to community groups, NGOs, and Charities.
Bank of Ireland is happy to announce that Learning Exchange will return on Friday, 16 October 2026, and Full Day courses will be delivered by Bank of Ireland’s training partner – Accenture – at the BOI training centre in Cabinteely, Dublin 18.
The Learning Exchange courses available are:
1. Presentation Skills
2. People Management Fundamentals
3. Influencing and Negotiation
4. Making Our Impact Visible: Storytelling

How to register for courses:
Places are limited per course and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis (and based on previous Learning Exchange events, we expect them to sell out fast!). Click on the red registration links in the course descriptions below to access the courses. If you have any difficulty with this system, please email [email protected].
Please note: A maximum of 2 attendees from the same non-profit organisation may register for a single course.
Waiting List:
If the course you have selected is currently full, there is an option on Eventbrite for you to be added to a waiting list. If any places become available (i.e. if we get any cancellations), those tickets will be offered to people on the mailing list. For any queries about the waiting list, you can email [email protected].
Payment: A nominal fee of €35 is required to secure your place for the full-day course. You must pay when booking your ticket on Eventbrite. There will be a prize draw for the non-profit organisations attending Learning Exchange. We will randomly select at least one non-profit to receive a donation based on the amounts collected.

This programme has been designed to ensure that participants have the ability to make professional presentations; the programme is highly practical and consists of guided practice using video-based feedback to help participants gain an objective view of their own personal style of presentation and have an opportunity to receive feedback from peers and trainer. For individuals who wish to reflect on their own current management style and leadership approach, key skills, and learn practical tools to enhance team performance through discussion and group activities. Influencing and Negotiation Full Day Course – €35 Presented by Eimear Barry |

This highly interactive and practical course equips attendees with the skills required to develop and implement negotiation strategies that are critical to generating successful outcomes. Attendees will use ‘negotiation case studies’ to role play and be given feedback by the trainer on same. Feedback from the trainer will suggest strengths and development areas. Attendees will learn how to prepare to negotiate and influence effectively, how to present their ideas in a compelling and engaging way and overcome resistance and barriers to their ideas. Content includes: The Negotiation Process, The Trust Dilemma, Power & Perception, Influencing others, Planning for Negotiation, Developing a Strategy, Concessions/Tactics, Carrying out the Negotiation, Communicating effectively – managing emotions, Dealing with Deadlocks, Case studies: role plays. A hands-on and practical workshop to help participants use storytelling to communicate your organisation’s value and impact. Develop practical skills to craft compelling real experiences and stories, tailor messages, and build your influence and visibility. The areas covered in the storytelling course include: – Building practical storytelling skills – Communicating your impact confidently – Tailoring stories for different stakeholders – Strengthening influence and visibility Format: Storytelling practice, group exercises, peer feedback, and action planning. Note: The ‘Making Our Impact Visible: Storytelling’ course is primarily intended for people working as marketing or communications professionals in the Irish non-profit sector.
