Open Call for Cultural and Community Use of Dublin’s GPO
The Office of Public Works (OPW) has launched an open call for organisations interested in bringing cultural and community activities to Dublin’s General Post Office (GPO) as part of the Telegraph Meanwhile Use Project.

The initiative aims to open up parts of the historic GPO complex to the public while longer-term redevelopment plans are being developed, creating a lively, welcoming space for cultural engagement and community participation.
Community groups, creative collectives, NGOs and other Ireland-based organisations with experience in the cultural sector are invited to apply.
The successful applicant will receive a three-year licence, beginning in 2028, to use two floors of the GPO’s Princes Street North wing. The spaces, known as the Typing Room and Accounts Branch, offer approximately 500 square metres of usable space across both floors and will be provided ready for occupation but unfurnished.
The OPW intends to select one applicant to manage both floors. Organisations are encouraged to review the Stage One and Stage Two selection criteria before applying. Those unable to meet all requirements independently may collaborate with other cultural organisations to submit a joint proposal.
Deadline for Expressions of Interest (EoI): 19 November 2026
