Fund Overview

The Inner City Dublin Fund* is a €2 million, 3-year fund co-designed and managed by Rethink Ireland, in partnership with Irish Life and Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht via the Dormant Accounts Fund.

The main goal of the Inner City Dublin Fund is to improve wellbeing and strengthen belonging by supporting initiatives that address mental health, social isolation and barriers to inclusion. The fund will invest in initiatives that empower communities and create environments where people feel connected, valued and safe.

*The Inner City Dublin Fund covers the areas of Dublin 1, Dublin 3, Dublin 7 and Dublin 8.

Objectives of the fund

  1. Improve mental health and wellbeing by supporting community-based programmes that build resilience, confidence, and connection.
  2. Strengthen economic and/or social resilience and cohesion by funding initiatives that foster trust, reduce stigma, and promote positive engagement between residents, services, and institutions.
  3. Advance inclusion by supporting projects that amplify underrepresented voices, particularly youth, migrants, and people affected by addiction or inequality.
  4. Promote systems learning and collaboration by connecting partners, sharing data, and demonstrating how cross-sector investment can create lasting urban wellbeing outcomes.

The fund offers a package of cash grants and business supports to the value of €1,440,000 for up to eight projects, to help them expand and increase their social impact.
