2026 Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) Open Call

On 30 September 2026, the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, launched a Call for Proposals open to organisations that aim to enhance the English language skills of people who have moved here as migrants.

The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) is an EU fund that aims to boost national capacities and improve procedures for migration management, as well as to enhance solidarity and responsibility sharing between Member States.

The 2026 AMIF Open Call follows funding provided to 18 organisations in 2023 following a broader Call for Proposals, and a targeted call in 2025 open to organisations capable of providing rehabilitative services and other supports for survivors of torture and victims of cruel and inhuman or degrading treatment.

As a result of these initiatives, the path towards the integration of migrants, many of whom have fled very challenging circumstances in other countries, has been made significantly easier.

2026 Open Call for Proposals:

  • A maximum of €2.0m will be made available for projects that aim to enhance the English language skills of people who have moved here as migrants, specifically Third Country Nationals (TCNs). Funding is being made available under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
  • Minimum grant amount of €300,000 available for projects of 1 to 2 years’ duration under Ireland’s national programme for the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
  • Funding provided to a maximum of 75% of eligible costs by the EU via the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), as part of the 2021-2027 AMIF national programme supported by the Government of Ireland.
  • Funding will be delivered on a Simplified Cost Option (SCO) basis, meaning direct staff cost are eligible costs and a flat rate of 40% of total staff costs will cover all other costs of the project (such as but not limited to materials for teaching, equipment, room hire, management costs and overheads).

‘Third-country national’ means any person who is not a citizen of the European Union. Reference to TCN shall be understood to include stateless persons and persons with undetermined nationality.
