Our membership fees operate on a sliding scale depending on an organisation’s total annual income. You can find more information on our Becoming a member page.

If you work in the charitable, community, voluntary, or social enterprise sector, you’ll find plenty of support as a member. Our membership rates are €25 for unwaged individuals and €75 for waged ones. We also offer many training opportunities and events to help with your leadership journey.

We offer a wide range of supports for start-up organisations. Visit our Advice and Guidance section to explore practical resources, including step-by-step guidance on setting up an organisation and registering as a charity.

As a member, you will also gain access to a range of additional supports, including training opportunities, ready-to-use templates, and valuable resources to support you at every stage of your journey. Check out our Membership page for more details. 

The Wheel offers a wide range of supports to help your organisation access funding. You can explore our full range of funding supports on our Funding Overview page. 

We provide free guidance in the Funding Options section, along with a wide selection of member-exclusive resources including articles, webinars and practical templates in our Advice and Guidance section.

Members can also subscribe to Fundingpoint, a comprehensive and carefully researched online database of funding opportunities for the Irish community and voluntary sector. Fundingpoint is a separate subscription. It normally costs €125 per year for members and €200 for non-members. As a new member of The Wheel, you can avail of a discounted first-year rate of €100.

In addition, we deliver Access Europe on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs. This programme supports Irish civil society organisations in accessing EU funding and is open to everyone, not just members of The Wheel.

Finally, we run regular events and training sessions and on-demand learning covering all aspects of fundraising, helping you build your skills and stay up to date with best practice across the sector.

If you’re joining as an organisation, you will need to provide details about your formation. This includes whether you’re a social enterprise, nonprofit, charity, or private company. You will also need to provide:

• Your organisation’s annual turnover which can often be found in your most recent set of accounts
• The number of paid staff working for you
• Contact details
• Your Registered Charity Number (if applicable)
• Information on your activities
• Some details about your membership interests, and how you heard about The Wheel

If you are applying as an individual, we just need your contact details and whether you are waged €75 or unwaged €25, as well as proof of ID.

Did you know that 70% of our training and events are free for members? Members also get a 40% discount on paid workshops.

You can access weekly free webinars on topics like finance, governance, mindfulness, communications, revenue compliance, and risk management.

Additionally, our On-demand Learning channel contains around 30 recorded sessions. These are updated regularly and cover many topics you can watch at your convenience. These trainings and webinars are open to anyone in your organisation.

Yes, once you have an account on our website you can book a place on our trainings for yourself, and/or book on behalf of other people in you organisation

Yes, all our 1-hour free webinars are recorded and shared with those who registered so that you can access and watch back in your own time.
