Our Vision is to give Galway City its first professional permanent orchestra. We want to shine a light on the outstanding musicians who join the Luminosa String Orchestra for distinction in performance, organization, innovation and community engagement.
The main object for which Luminosa Music is established is the promotion of culture and the arts by providing a new and innovative concert series in Galway city, for the education and benefit of the widest possible public, and for the development of high caliber classical music performance and facilitation of a city orchestra in the Galway area.
We produce a concert series each year featuring lesser-known work alongside more popular work – to bring rarely heard music to wider audiences. Our current 2021 concert series will be online.
The wheel host and produce some excellent training and support for non-profits and charities. The running of a charity is becoming increasingly challenging to navigate and the wheel have all the supports in one place.
People can support Luminosa music by donating to us. We are a registered charity no. 20205430. They can find all the information at www.luminosa.ie/donate – there are new friends and patrons schemes available reflecting live stream tickets. However, the best way of supporting Luminosa is to come and hear our concerts, whether these be live-streamed or live in person when that is possible again.
