Launch of The Wheel’s new publication ‘Unlocking the Social Economy, Supporting Social Enterprise: A Platform for Progress’

Join us in-person on 12 September in Clones, Co. Monaghan for the launch of The Wheel’s new publication Unlocking the Social Economy, Supporting Social Enterprise: A Platform for Progress.

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, will be launching the publication and you will hear from local, national and cross-border social enterprises. There will also be an opportunity to network with your peers over lunch.

Unlocking the Social Economy, Supporting Social Enterprise: A Platform for Progress frames the social enterprise landscape within the wider social economy in Ireland and in the EU, highlights supports available from The Wheel and puts forward recommendations for a thriving social enterprise and social economy.

SPEAKERS

Minister Heather Humphreys

Heather Humphreys TD was appointed Minister of Justice, Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands on 27 June 2020. She previously served as Minister for Business, Enterprise, and Innovation from November 30, 2017 to June 27, 2020, and Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. She previously served as Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs from 6 May 2016, and from July 2014. She was elected to the Dáil on February 2011 for the constituency of Cavan Monaghan. She was re-elected to Monaghan County council in June 2009 and during her time she was Chair of the Council’s Strategic Policy Committee on Planning and Economic Development. She was chairperson of Monaghan County Council from 09-10.
