Network and Engage with The Wheel (Online Meeting)

This networking and information session is an opportunity to meet up with other community and voluntary organisations, share the good work you are doing and the challenges you have overcome, and learn what supports are available to you. 

Our Campaigns Manager, Sarah Monaghan, will introduce us to an exciting new campaign focused on improving awareness and understanding of the work of the charity and community sector. This campaign will work across the entire sector to improve public perception and appreciation of the value our work adds to the lives of individuals, families and entire communities, both in Ireland and in an International Aid context.

Don't miss the opportunity to learn about how you can contribute to shaping this important campaign which at the early stages of research and development.  

Learning Outcomes 

Participants will leave the session with greater awareness of: 

  • The variety and quality of work being done by community and voluntary organisations, charities, and social enterprises 
  • The supports and services provided by The Wheel and other service providers  
  • New sector-wide campaign to improve public awareness an appreciation of the value of all our work.

Meet your Facilitators:

Sarah

Sarah Monaghan joined The Wheel in March 2019 as Campaigns Manager. Her role, within the public policy team, involves assessing the pressing issues and areas for change identified by our membership and proactively developing campaign strategies and plans to address them. Sarah was previously a founding member of the National Executive of Together for Yes, which successfully repealed the 8th Amendment and a Director on the Campaign to Re-elect Michael D Higgins. 

Johnny Sheehan

Johnny Sheehan is Membership and Regional Manager at The Wheel. The main focus of his work is to drive the development, presence and participation in The Wheel’s programmes regionally, to support the work of the National Rural Network and to support member engagement in The Wheel. Johnny has extensive experience on charity boards and holds a certificate in Charity Law, Trusteeship and Governance from the Law Society.
