Remote eLearning: An Overview of Relapse Prevention
Good relapse prevention work is key amongst addiction professionals. This Overview of Relapse Prevention programme is designed to meet the needs of those working within the addiction field in relation to this area by following a specific model of relapse prevention and covering some practical applications of this model. The model used is that of Marlatt and Gordon.
The Relapse Prevention model proposed by Marlatt and Gordon would suggest that two issues come into play when looking at Relapse Prevention, namely immediate determinants (e.g., high-risk situations, coping skills, outcome expectancies, and the abstinence violation effect) and covert antecedents (e.g., lifestyle factors and urges and cravings) can all contribute to relapse.
The training will be delivered using the free Zoom remote conferencing platform: The course will allow you to interact with the trainer and other participants in a virtual classroom where, in addition to the workshop content, there will be time built in for live discussions, question & answer sessions and skills practice. You can access the course wherever you have an internet connection; on a desktop, tablet or even a smartphone.
