The Way to Rome -  Trek the Via Francigena

Join Sophia this May on its first ever overseas charity challenge on the Via Francigena- this the common name of an ancient road and pilgrim route running from France to Rome. It was not a single road, it's actually comprised of several routes that changed over the centuries with trade and pilgrimage. Depending on the time of year, the political situation, and the relative popularity of the shrines of the saints situated along the route, travellers may have used any of three or four crossings of the Alps and the Apennines. Our trek will take us through the last 100km of the Via Francigena, starting in medieval Viterbo and finishing in Rome, to get your 'Testimonium' of pilgrimage to the Eternal City.

To join Sophia on this trip of a lifetime, we ask you to raise €2000. This money will not only fund your flights, buses, accomodation, food and tour, but will help Sophia house the homeless of Ireland.
