Public consultation to inform the new National Women's Strategy

On 23 November 2016, the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality, Frances Fitzgerald TD and the Minister of State with special responsibility for Equality, Immigration and Integration, David Stanton TD, launched a public consultation on the forthcoming National Women's Strategy. The new Strategy will set out Government policy on promoting equality and the empowerment of women and girls from 2017 to 2020.

The public consultation process is open from 23 November 2016 and will conclude at 17:00 on Friday 27 January 2017. The Department of Justice and Equality is seeking the views of the public and all interested parties on the consultation document to help inform the new Strategy. The findings of the consultation process will be reviewed by the Strategy Committee established to assist the Department of Justice and Equality on the preparation of the Strategy. It is expected that the Strategy will be finalised and launched early in 2017.
