Rosslare based charity to sell house for less than €1,000

A Rosslare-based charity is selling No. 83 Elderwood in Castlebridge, Co Wexford - a fantastic 3-bed home in a picturesque estate overlooking the Slaney estuary for less than €1,000.00!

This is a story about a Developer, a community based charity and a House.

The House: a 3 bed beautiful home will be sold to someone for less than €1,000. So how is this possible and why would you want to sell a house for such a ridiculous price?

Participation in this sale just couldn’t be easier; first you become a friend of the charity, by making a donation of €100 or more. Then you will be invited to tender for the house on the specially prepared documents. In fact you will be able to make up to 10 offers, this will allow everyone in your family or in your group of workmates or colleagues to make an offer for the home which will be sold to the person who makes the highest unique offer under a thousand euros.

In this case "unique" means one of a kind or individual offer, so if two people offer €200 then that offer is no longer unique.

The vendors are the Rosslare Community Development Association, a registered community based charity that provides sporting educational and social facilities for the people of the area. They too are unique as they built the first Artificial Bowling Green and Wexford’s First Synthetic Rubber athletics track as well as the magnificent floodlit all weather pitch.

The house was donated by Dun Laoghaire-based developers, Noonan Construction as part of the planning condition for a housing development in Rosslare. To their credit they have honored the agreement even though no work has commenced on that site.

The offer of this donation permitted The Rosslare development Association to deliver Wexford’s first Synthetic Rubber Athletics Track and a fabulous floodlit all weather pitch at a cost of nearly half a million euro. This wonderful facility has resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of children, women and men participating in a broad range of sporting activity. The all weather surfaces have also meant that the less mobile now have access to activities that they were heretofore barred from.

Rosslare Development Association plan to use the donations collected to build a new Water Sports Centre. This new development which will create 3 new permanent and up to 6 seasonal jobs teaching sailing, kayaking, wind and kite surfing as well as power boat courses. It is hoped that the new centre, which will be ready for April 2011, will greatly enhance the tourism product of the area.

The Promotion Starts on Tuesday the 29th of June culminating on the 30th of August where one successful bidder will purchase this magnificent house for less than one thousand euro
