Opportunity for a Research & Policy Intern to assist with the implementation of an innovative collaborative project being run by two leading national umbrella bodies in the non-profit sector in Ireland.

Role: Policy and Research Intern for the ‘Participation Health-check Index’ pilot project

Period of Opportunity: 12 – 16 weeks at three days per week starting in July 2013.

Summary:The National Youth Council of Ireland and The Wheel wish to implement a pilot project that will assist in the development of a framework of indicators that can be used to assess the ‘health’ of active citizenship / participation across different age cohorts in Ireland. The project also involves identifying and mapping the policies in place in Ireland which impact on the outcomes that indicators measure. The pilot project will also ultimately contribute to the development of a methodology by which the efficacy of the respective advocacy work can be assessed.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in an innovative collaborative work programme of strategic importance to, and being driven by two significant national umbrella bodies in the community and voluntary sector in Ireland.
