An Open invitation to Everyone to our Community Celebration Day

On Friday 10th September between 11.00am – 3.00pm at Festina Lente, Old Connaught Avenue; Bray, Co Wicklow, Friday 10th September 11.00am-3.00pm

Complimentary Teas/Coffee & Scones 12.00-2.00pm

 The day will be opened by An Cathaoirleach Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Councillor Lettie McCarthy with the release of hundreds of  homing pigeons at 12pm to mark the celebrations which will be taking place at Festina Lente Walled Gardens, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray.

 Throughout the day, there will be demonstrations of community projects including guided tours of the restored of Festina Lente Walled Gardens and pony rides for the more adventurous visitors. You can expect Theatrical Performances and or a display of football techniques! Exercises for the older visitors & set dancing displays or hand knitting and weaving and an introduction to computers, websites and starting your own business! Look at the impressive community allotments and organic vegetables. This is a sample of the vital work; services & employment opportunities created & carried out throughout the country by Community Services Projects, often unseen & under appreciated

 The Department of Social Protection supports over 420 Community Services Projects nationwide.  Employing 2700 people, these projects play a significant role in the regeneration of local economies within disadvantaged areas and improving the quality of life for thousands of people. The Celebration Day is a National Day showcasing the great work done steadily and quietly for the most vulnerable or socially excluded in our communities and it is a chance to focus on all that is good in our society.  

 So Remember Friday September 10th 11.00am to 3.00 pm come out and celebrate with us and enjoy a great free day out for the whole family from Granny to Baby and all in between!!
