Date: Wednesday, 29 October
Time: 9:15am-12:15pm
Venue: All Hallows College, Drumcondra, Dublin 9

By attending this seminar you will learn:

  • What the best leaders do in shaping high performance teams
  • The characteristics that set exemplary leaders apart
  • What your constituents want from the best leaders – lessons learned across all cultures and organization types
  • The factor that rules relationships, innovation, influence and performance
  • How you can apply these lessons learned to you and your organisation.

Many studies on leadership focus on theories and what other researchers say. Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner have collected data over 30 years on what exemplary leaders do.

After 3 million survey respondents, data from 72 countries across all continents and 500 independent studies, Kouzes and Posner have identified 10 “Truths” - patterns and behaviours, which can be learned by others - about leadership.

Credibility and trust are identified as the foundation stones of good leadership. While the context of leadership is changing constantly, especially post the global financial crisis, the content of leadership shows amazing durability and consistency.

Using data collected across profit, community and voluntary and government sectors, you will learn how you can apply the same “Truths” about your own and your organisation’s leadership to help confront, change and adapt to the fundamental uncertainties we face.

Barry is a warm and engaging speaker with an authentic style of working with an audience. He will deliver a number of sessions, combined with group discussions and analysis of data-driven theory. Attendees may consider submitting their participation at this seminar for the awarding of CPD points by their respective professional organisations.
