The Open Training College - Working Together to Support Managers and Staff in delivering quality services and achieving positive HIQA outcomes.

The College has spent more than 20 years working as training experts providing accredited training and consultancy services to the disability/human services and nonprofit sector. We have brought to that role extensive first-line experience, detailed knowledge of the space and a range of customised educational and training solutions that allow us to:

  • Capture the operational experiences of organisations, professional practitioners and service users and integrate them into quality and training initiatives
  • Tie together training, continuing professional development and working practice to offer more effective, responsive and efficient services, for example, capable of meeting HIQA Standards requirements

Fundamental to all of this has been our relationship with the sector.  We have actively sought the input of industry bodies, regulatory authorities and more than 120 organisations to help develop our training programmes so they reflect the working realities of the sector and the needs of organisations and professional practitioners operating in it.

The Open Training College provide courses that are up to date and include much needed content on the ever changing regulatory environment in which services operate. The courses are applied programmes dealing with real world challenges. The course material is determined by the needs of the sector, making it easier for students to apply what they learn in their everyday practice.
