Dept. of Social Protection - New Control and Fraud Initiative 2014
(Dept. text):
A priority for the Department of Social Protection is to ensure that it pays the right person the right amount of money at the right time. The vast majority of people receiving social welfare payments are legitimately entitled to them. It is important that the Department's resources are targeted at the people who need these most. It is against this back-drop that a strategic approach to combating social welfare fraud was put in place through the Department's Fraud Initiative 2011 - 2013.
A new Fraud and Control  Initiative will be launched in 2014.  As part of this process the Department is inviting submissions, comments or suggestions. It is intended that the outcome of this consultation process will assist and influence the Department in formulating its next Initiative.
Submission or comments can be sent to email, the closing date for receipt of responses is 7 March 2014.
