Applications are now being accepted for BA in Community and Family Studies for the year 2012 to 2013

This distance learning programme is a 4 year part-time honours degree aimed at those who want to enhance their skills and qualifications in Community/Voluntary and State sectors actively supporting community and family life.

The programme is taught using blended learning, which combines face to face workshops, web-based resources and printed course manuals to provide a flexible and rounded learning experience.  Topics covered include community development, family support, sociological and political studies, family law, conflict resolution and others. The practical skills and relevant knowledge increase graduates employability in the community development sector.

Students are awarded an NUI Diploma in Arts: Community and Family Studies upon successful completion of 2 years and a Bachelor of Arts: Community and Family Studies on completion of the 4 year cycle.

Fees are €2,900 per annum and can be paid in 3 instalments.  Applicants in receipt of social welfare are automatically entitled to a 50% reduction in fees. Entry requirements are that applicants must be at least 21 years old. Formal academic qualifications are not required.
