Youth Work Ireland National Conference: 2 Nov, Dublin Castle

Youth Work Ireland (YWI) has announced details of its upcoming National Conference‘Bringing the Strands Together - the challenges and opportunities in delivering joined up services for young people’which will take place on Saturday, 2 November, in Dublin Castle.

The focus of the conference this year will be on integrated service delivery for children and young people and will hear from the Minister for Children & Youth Affairs, Frances Fitzgerald along with other key policy makers, such as Robert Watt (Dept. of Public Expenditure & Reform), Gorden Jeyes (C&FS, HSE) and Jim Breslin (DCYA), along with Dr. John Bamber and Dr. Stella Owen (Centre for Effective Services).

Senator Jillan Van Turnout will deliver the key note speech on the day.

YWI is hoping this conference will be an opportunity for policy makers, managers and practitioners in the field of youth work, social work, health, education, justice and employment to come together and share their experiences of best practice on the ground and examine the challenges they face in working across different policy areas to achieve best outcomes for children and young people in Ireland today.

Youth Work Ireland is a federation of 22 Local Member Youth Services who deliver programmes and services to young people across the island of Ireland. We work with over 100,000 young people, through 597 clubs and youth projects, supported by over 1000 staff and over 7,000 dedicated volunteers.
