X-Hale Youth Awards Open for Applications

Are you part of a youth group or youth organisation?  Are you interested in putting an end to smoking for good?  

Do you want to make sure that younger teenagers and children growing up in your community never try smoking? Then you might be interested in the Irish Cancer Society's X-HALE initiative, which gives you a chance to stamp out smokes with loads of prizes to be won for your youth group or youth organisation!

Two Ways to Take Part

This year there are two ways that you can tackle Big Tobacco. You can enter the X-HALE Short Film Competition or the X-HALE Community Action Project. The choice is yours!

Both projects will be celebrated at a national showcase event in July 2015.

1. Short Film Competition

  1. Make a two minute film to prevent young people from starting to smoke in your community.
  2. Apply for a grant of €250 to support your group.
  3. Come along to a free film making workshop during March/April 2015.
  4. See you work on the big screen at our national showcase in July 2015.

2. Community Action Award

  1. Develop a community action project to help prevent young people from starting to smoke in your community.
  2. Shout about it - Make a difference - Do something that will lead and empower change in your community.
  3. Apply for a grant of up to €500 to support your group.
  4. Attend two free training workshops. One of them will be in your youth centre/youth group space.
  5. Enter your project and attend the National showcase celebration in July 2015, where you can show loads of people all of your hard work.
