SSGT Traveller Accommodation Grant Programme

St Stephen’s Green Trust invites applications for the Traveller Accommodation grant programme which seeks to make a contribution to the delivery of culturally appropriate, secure, quality accommodation for Travellers.

Grants will be made for work which: stimulates and strengthens activism at a local level, particularly among young Travellers; supports effective advocacy to improve practice; supports work (effective advocacy, knowledge or research) that leads directly to policy (including legislative) change.

Grant applications should focus on one or more of the following outcomes: strengthened support through organising and campaigning; improved awareness of and attitude towards the need for change in how accommodation is being delivered; strengthened alliances; improved policies, legislation and change to current practice in the delivery of accommodation.

There is a two-step process to apply for funding.

Step 1: The attached Expression of Interest form should be filled out and emailed to SSGT by Friday 14 September 2018.  Short-listing will be carried out on the basis of the Expressions of Interest within two weeks and you will be notified of the outcome.

Step 2: If your Expression of Interest is shortlisted you will be required to submit a more detailed application which may involve meeting with us.  A decision on the final selection of funded applications will be made by Friday 30th Nov 2018. There is a limited grant budget and we expect to fund six or seven organisations in total. Multiannual funding is available.

More detail on programme outcomes and grant levels is available on the www.ssgt.ie website or on the attached form. Enquiries to: 045 480 666 or email info@ssgt.ie.
