'Small Size' Performing Arts Fund Open for Applications

Small size seeding fund, the fund aimed to support the creation of new productions for the 0-4 age group, is now open again to new production proposals.

The third Call for Proposals will close on 31 December, 2012, and brings something new in the Seeding fund: the call, in fact, is now open also to extra-European companies and artists.
The Small size Seeding Fund is not an award, but a way to support those who intend to produce shows for early years. This is why shows already produced are not going to be awarded; projects are instead selected and supported.
This fund was awarded once during "Small size, the net" project, and led to the creation of eight new Productions for children 0 to 4 – eight productions which had the chance to be presented during at least one Small size festival. A second Call for Proposal - the first for "Small size, big citizens" project - was launched in March 2010, and brought to the selection of 5 production projects, while the third one, launched in September 2011, saw 4 production projects selected and supported.
The fund supports projects by:
  • granting € 6.000,00 for the productions;
  • guaranteeing the presentation of the production on the occasion of at least one Small size festival;
  • promoting the selected projects through the network;
  • allowing the use of the Small size logo as well as the Culture Programme one for the promotional material relating to the supported project (posters, brochures, etc).
The Irish Small size festival in which any accepted projects will be presented is: “Baborò…" festival, Galway.
