The School for Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Now Open

Social Enterprise Ireland (SEI) has announced that two people closely linked to SEI, Lynda Stopford (former Director of Wave Change) and Colman Farrell (former CEO of Suas Educational Development, SEI 2005 Awardee) have come together, with SEI’s support and funding from the JPMorganChase Foundation & The Atlantic Philanthropies to launch a new organisation The School of Entrepreneurs Ireland (SSE Ireland).

School Focus

SSE Ireland will run action-based, practical learning programmes for entrepreneurial individuals who have an idea or start-up venture with a social or environmental benefit. It is now part of the growing network of SSE Schools across the UK, Australia and in Ontario Canada supporting social entrepreneurs to realise their potential and to establish, scale and sustain,social enterprises and social businesses.

SSE Ireland will be incubated in the short term at SEI with the intention of becoming independent as soon as possible in 2014.

The Incubator Programme starts 4 April, 2014

The first Incubator Programme is now open for applications and will bring together 25 social entrepreneurs in Dublin over 6 months between April and November with 7, 2-day sessions and 5 half day action-learning sets.  Participants will also be able to avail of focused-mentoring and expert advice from experiences social entrepreneurs and business people.
