President Michael D. Higgins Endorses Better Together Campaign

Wow! With over 10,000 votes already cast in the first four days of voting, and with over a month and a half before voting closes for the Better Together Video Competition and Ireland’s Charity Hero Award, you can bet your bottom dollar that thousands more will flock to to support participating charities, clubs and associations.

President HigginsThe campaign is also attracting support in high places: earlier this week President Michael D. Higgins official launched the Better Together Campaign with an inspirational speech in which he described the campaign as “a great model for driving active citizenship and a fair and just society." Missed the launch? What Can You Enter?

Entries to Better Together 2012 close on 5 November at 5pm.

We want you to create a short video (2 minutes or shorter) to tell Ireland why your organisation matters and why we are Better Together. You can also submit an existing video (even if you entered it last year), or a video that is already on YouTube, Vimeo or BlipTV (you can simply submit the link). Entries close on 5 November at 5pm.
The public will vote for their favourite videos until 19 November. The ten videos with the most votes in each category will be shortlisted, and a panel of independent judges will pick one €3,000 prize winner in each category.

Don't Have A Video Ready Yet?

Not to worry. You can nominate your Charity Hero today. Ireland's Charity Hero Award celebrates an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to a good cause in a voluntary capacity.
