Nestlé Ireland Sign Up for Jack & Jill Funding Appeal

Nestlé Ireland staff and some of the company’s partner agencies including DDFH&B, Mindshare, Weber Shandwick PR and Source have come together to create a major national fundraising campaign for The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation.

The objective is to help raise €400,000, which is urgently needed to continue the charity's service of providing intensive home nursing support to the families of children under four who are faced with the challenge of living with brain damage.

Funding has been severely hit by the recession and a reduction in its HSE grant

Funding has been severely hit by the recession and a reduction in its HSE grant and it now urgently needs to address this shortfall if it is to continue its service to year-end.

The campaign focuses on the story of one Jack & Jill mother, Brigid Flanagan from Co Louth, whose three-year-old son Richard requires 24-hour care and benefits from the nursing provided by the foundation.

Entitled 'Bringing Home', it was produced at no cost to the Jack & Jill Foundation.

Seed funding came from the fundraising efforts of the staff of Nestlé Ireland, where Jack & Jill is Charity of the Year 2012. The company's marketing team brought together its creative agency partners to help build the campaign along with a number of media partners who also committed additional advertising and editorial space.

"What was an initial seed of an idea has become a significant campaign due in no small way to the power of the charity and the collaborative efforts of so many creative and media partners," said Oliver Sutherland, country manager, Nestlé Ireland.

"As soon as people in the industry heard about what we were planning they quickly came on board to help create this powerful and emotive advertising campaign.

"Over 40 advertising, media, marketing and creative professionals were involved and invested their time for no fee."
