Fundraisers Invited To Participate In Implementation Group

The Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs has accepted the recommendations of a recent feasibility report on developing a scheme to regulate fundraising by Codes of Practice, and it has appointed Irish Charities Tax Research (ICTR) to work with them on their implementation.

ICTR is now facilitating the process of selecting people for the Implementation Group which will oversee the whole process.

The Implementation Group is likely to have circa nine people on it, five of whom will come from the charity sector. Two of these will come from the Irish Fundraisers Forum for Direct Recruitment and Fundraising Ireland respectively. The remaining three individuals from the charity sector are being sought through an open application process across the sector. The selection process will be overseen and implemented by Siobhán McGee and Peter Cassells, independent consultants engaged by ICTR to assist them in this process and with the wider project.
