Ervia in Action Community Fund: Now Seeking Applications

The Ervia in Action Community Fund is now seeking applications. The Fund, created by Ervia, Ireland’s first multi-utility infrastructure company, has been established to support community based projects that develop and enhance local communities throughout Ireland.

Ervia is a commercial semi-state company with responsibility for the delivery of strategic national gas and water infrastructure and services in Ireland, through its businesses Gas Networks Ireland and Irish Water.

Ervia is committed to ensuring that the communities in which is works and operates are at the heart of its business. For Ervia, being responsible in the community means investing in people, in their needs and in their futures. Through the Ervia in Action Programme, Ervia aims to make a sustainable difference through collaboration with community partners supported by its Community Fund. The Fund will award grants to local or regional organisations that have projects that fit one or more of the following key themes:

1. Quality of Life

Ervia will support projects that impact positively on the general well-being of local communities and may include (but are not solely limited to) a focus on poverty;  homelessness; employment; education; family life; physical and mental health; environment; recreation and leisure and; arts, culture and heritage.

2. Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Ervia will provide financial support for innovation or an enterprising idea (good or service) that creates value within a local community or Ireland as a whole. The project must address a specific need at community level and must have the appropriate supports, management and resources in place to deliver in an impactful, meaningful and sustainable way.

3. Inclusion

Ervia will provide financial assistance to community based groups that facilitate participation in community and society at large. The focus of these organisations may include (but are not solely limited to); supporting individuals to reach their potential and enabling full participation in society; positively impacting on equality, diversity and accessibility;  delivering services to increase employment and participation; providing supports that enable older people to maintain a comfortable and high-quality standard of living; building viable and sustainable communities; improving the lives of people living in disadvantaged areas and; building social capital.
