Coca-Cola Thank You Fund Application Date Extended Due to High Level of Interest

Coca-Cola today announced that due to the high level of interest the ‘Coca-Cola Thank You Fund’ will now be accepting entries up until midnight on the 20th July. The Fund is making €125,000 in funding available to community and voluntary groups promoting active lifestyles throughout the island of Ireland. The ‘Coca-Cola Thank You Fund’, which is being supported by The Wheel and The Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA), has been developed to support innovative projects and initiatives that are helping people and communities adopt and enjoy more active lifestyles.

Speaking today, Erica Roseingrave, Public Affairs and Communications Manager, Coca-Cola HBC Ireland said: “Today we’re announcing that there is more time available for people to enter this year’s ‘Coca-Cola Thank You Fund’. We’ve had a huge level of interest in the Fund and having taken this on board we’ve decided to extend the application date by two weeks until the 20th of July. The ‘Coca-Cola Thank You Fund’ is a great resource for non-profit organisations throughout this country. There is €125K in funding available through the Fund and we’re looking for entries from non-profit organisations which are promoting active lifestyles throughout this country. I’d encourage all non-profit organisations to log onto the website,, and share their innovative ideas with us so that we can support them.”

A total of €125,000 is available for distribution through the ‘Coca-Cola Thank You Fund’ to eligible organisations. Ten projects will €10,000 grants and this year, an outstanding overall winner will be awarded funding of €25,000. The project selected will represent best practice and will be a creative, innovative initiative capable of being replicated in other communities.

The ‘Coca-Cola Thank You Fund’ is open for entries until midnight on the 20th of July. All applications will be accepted online at After the entries are closed a judging panel consisting of Coca Cola, The Wheel and the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action will create a shortlist of 45 organisations which will be published on the Coca-Cola website on September 1st, 2012. The public vote will account for 50% of the final decision and a vote by an expert judging panel will account for the remaining 50%. The winners will be announced by November 2012.
