Benefit 4 Funded Training: Call for Partners

ICS Skills has successfully been granted an extension on the Benefit 4 "Get Ireland Online" funded training which has been running for the past two years and so is now seeking new partners who would be interested in offering the training in their local communities.

Benefit 4 training teaches people the basics of using the internet and is especially suitable for older people, job-seekers and disadvantaged groups. Currently, it is being offered in libraries, community centres, training organisations and primary schools around the country.  

Your centre will receive a payment of €40 per person that completes the course consisting of 4 x 2 hour classes.

The 4 courses available are:

  1. Internet for Beginners Basics – This includes using email, Skype, using online banking, paying motor tax online, transferring photos to the computer, internet Safety
  2. Internet for Beginners Advanced – This covers the basic course in more detail and also includes booking flights online and checking in, checking the electoral register, and using online playback like the RTE Player.
  3. Kickstart your career – This includes C.V. and cover letter writing, searching for jobs online and using LinkedIn
  4. Safeguard your Children Online – This course would be aimed schools for parents who wish to filter and block certain content on the computer, when their children are going online.
