This workshop will help charity and nonprofit trustees understand and manage risk. It will equip them with skills to spot risks early and handle them practically. These risks can hinder a charity’s ability to achieve its goals.

During the session, trustees will learn about:

  • Trustee responsibilities – a clear overview of their legal and ethical duties in risk management
  • Identifying and assessing risk – how to find risks in various areas of a charity and judge their likelihood and severity
  • Managing risk – practical steps to reduce risks and respond when issues arise
  • Building a risk-aware culture – ways to encourage staff and boards to think about risk proactively
  • Staying compliant – how to meet legal and regulatory standards
  • Protecting the charity – steps to safeguard the organisation’s assets and reputation.

Who should attend?

This training is for people working in the community and voluntary sector. It is suitable for nonprofits, charities, volunteer-run groups, and social enterprises. The training explains risk management in clear and practical terms. It shows how to rate risk across the organisation. The aim is to keep people safe and protect the organisation.
