Charity Trustee Week 13-17 November

From Monday 13 November to Friday 17 November we will be celebrating Ireland's first Charity Trustee Week. The Charities Regulator developed this new initiative to celebrate the role of charity trustees and to raise awareness of the vital work done by the thousands of people who volunteer their time and expertise to direct, and are legally responsible for, the running of Ireland’s charities.

Charity trustees (commonly referred to as ‘board members’ or ‘committee members’) lead, support and direct the charitable purposes and activities of charities. It is a role that carries great responsibility, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a positive impact in your community.

To help celebrate Charity Trustee Week, The Wheel will be hosting a number of events:

  • Tues 14th: The Wheel & Crowe Horwath present 2017 Leader's Lunch. Enquiries, please email
  • Thurs 16th: Workshop: Charity Trustees - Board Roles and Responsibilities 6pm - 8.30pm; Athlone, Co. Westmeath. Reserve your place
