Economics professor scrutinises Community and Voluntary Pillar's recovery plan (February 2010)
The Wheel is continuing to work with our 16 colleague organisations in the Community and Voluntary Pillar to develop and present an alternative national economic recovery plan. The Government has already stated that budget 2011 will see a further €4Bn fiscal adjustment (to comprise of a combination of expenditure cuts and increases in the tax take) - so the process of ensuring that vulnerable people are protected from the effects of this adjustment starts now.

The Charities Act 2009 Factsheet
This guide outlines the main features of the Charities Act 2009 and offers practical steps for charities that will be affected by the new legislation.
It is important to note that the provisions of the Charities Act did not come into force when the Act was signed into law in February 2009. The Act will be commenced in stages by the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. The Wheel will keep you updated as the new provisions come into force.
