www.ICTpoint.ie is the home of information and advice on technology, specifically tailored for community and voluntary organisations and charities in Ireland. You can browse our growing knowledgebase of articles written to address problems experienced by community, voluntary and charitable organisations and comment upon our articles and answers to your technology questions. Information TechnologyInformation technology is widely used in the community, voluntary and charity sector for standard communications but, according to studies, there seems to be a low level of use for service provision and management. Effective Technology SolutionsThe awareness of low cost and highly effective technology solutions to real day to day problems enables organisation to make the investment of resources to plan and implement effective solutions. As happened in the private sector, peer knowledge and advice are significant driving force in building the Information Society. It is through initiatives like the Emagine project, the openIT seminar series and services such as ICTpoint that The Wheel seeks to encourage the community, voluntary and charity sector to greater efficiencies and effectiveness in their work through the use of available and affordable information technologies.
