General Election Update
The election is over and The Wheel will be focusing its efforts over the coming months on ensuring that the new Governments commitments relating to the sector, and those existing commitments in the national agreement Towards 2016, are front loaded for early delivery. We await with interest the publication of the new "Programme for Government" . The Wheel will continue to work to ensure that Government recognises the cross-cutting needs of the Sector - as identified in The Wheels manifesto for the sector.
The Wheel expects that the centerpiece of the programme agreed between The Greens and Fianna Fail with regard to developing the relationship between the sector and the state will remain the Task Force on Active Citizenship. |
