Cost and availability of insurance damaging Community and Voluntary activityThe high cost and reduced availability of insurance for Community and Voluntary organisations has been having a detrimental effect on services and activities, a submission from the Community and Voluntary Pillar told the Competition Authority in July 2004. The submission, written by The Wheel, was given to the authority in advance of a meeting with Competition Authority head John Fingleton. At the end of 2004 the CA issued it’s Report on Competition Issues in the Non-life insurance market. Having examined in detail the recommendations contained within the report and The Wheel in its capacity as a Social Partner compiled the following submission.
This submission has been made to government and the details contained within are being followed through with the relevant monitoring body now charged with responsibility for financial regulation in the market place – IFSRA. To read about the role of IFSRA click here |
